Yuva KE is a Kenyan-based online store that stocks hand-woven Kiondo bags & baskets.

Our Kiondo bags and baskets are woven from dyed sisal by women in the Eastern part of Kenya. The Kiondo weaving skill is one that has been passed on from generation to generation. The skill comes in handy to the women given that this is their main source of livelihood in the dry season when there is low rainfall.

The income earned from selling Kiondos enables them to meet their basic needs and pay school fees for their children. They have formed women's groups through which they source for the raw materials, weave together and sell the baskets. Yuva KE works with several women's groups by sourcing the baskets from them.
